What materials for partitions?

Which implementations?

First solution: a "wet" assembly. The materials are assembled with mortar or glue. The partitions are assembled with hollow bricks, plaster tiles or cellular concrete ... The installation is relatively easy and it is most often recommended for small surfaces. If you want to include pipes or electric wires, there are grooves and therefore a lot of work to level out the surfaces. Alternative: a "dry" assembly. It has the advantage of being able to cover large areas in one piece as well as high ceiling heights with large format panels. Their assembly is carried out on a wooden frame (lighter) for the honeycomb plates and on a metal frame for the plasterboard, cement, cellulose ... The latter system allows the integration of thermal or acoustic insulation. Finally, all the so-called "dry" partitions allow the passage of the electrical ducts, without visible bleeding.

Sound insulation partition

plastering expertise

In older houses, the sound insulation between rooms is very poor. Today, each room must have its sound comfort. Thus, the rooms are in a "silent" zone and the perceived noise level must not exceed 20 dB. On the other hand, in daytime activity rooms, low noise (35 dB maximum) is tolerated. Hence the usefulness of changing the partitions to benefit from the latest advances in insulation. In this house, the choice fell on Placo Phonique plasterboard placed on a Placostil metal frame. The implementation is simple and traditional.
